Rebuilding Home After Katrina

Your gift helps to create a new home and a new start for a family displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Two years later, hundreds of families are still living in cramped trailers, many of which are built with toxic materials.

Architecture for Humanity’s visionary Model Home Program enables families in Biloxi, Mississippi to rebuild their homes and their lives. Families work one-on-one with an innovative architect to design and construct from the ground up a new and affordable home tailored to their unique needs, one that meets new disaster-related building codes and often uses sustainable materials. Rebuilding a home grounds these families on their land, provides stability to nurture healthy development in children, and restores strong familial roots for a future of positive growth.
