Children Restoring the African Rainforest - African Rainforest Conservancy

This gift will train 200 school children in Tanzania to act as stewards of their local forest environments, where ancient rain forests have been destroyed. This gift teaches children the fundamentals of sustainable tree planting and care, and enables them to plant 400 new tree seedlings to help regenerate the forest surrounding their home in the Eastern Arc Mountains.

Old growth forests in the Eastern Arc Mountains were lost to timber poachers and illegal agricultural clearing. In villages where the average income is less than 30 cents a day, local communities depend on their natural heritage for survival. The tree groves resulting from your gift will aid in water catchment, soil enrichment, and the preservation of both animal and medicinal plant habitats.

As a direct result of this gift, part of our planet’s priceless rainforest habitat will be renewed as a living blessing to our and future generations.
