Inspirational, revolutionary and visionary Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Wangari Maathai began the Green Belt movement thirty years ago. By planting trees in the barren soil of her native Kenya with a community of women, the land became fertile, and the women empowered, transforming society from the roots up.
