Mercy Corps is a global humanitarian organization empowering people to recover from crisis, build better lives and transform their communities for good. Since 1979, they have provided $4 billion in lifesaving assistance throughout the world. Mercy Corps has responded to nearly every global emergency over the past 20 years. This year, we had a particular focus on:
FAMINE IN YEMEN
Mercy Corps is on the ground in Yemen where what has become a staggering humanitarian crisis is being addressed with stalwart strategy and dedication. in Yemen there are currently more than 14 million people who do not have enough food to eat and due to lack of resources and defenses against preventable causes, a child under the age of 5 dies every 10 minutes.
PUERTO RICO RELIEF
Following Hurricane Maria, ten percent of Puerto Rico's 3.4 million residents are still without access to clean water and more than half of residents are still without power. Mercy Corps has a team on the ground in Puerto Rico working with local organizations to deliver humanitarian assistance and start rebuilding the communities ravaged by the hurricane. your donation will be used directly to deliver lifesaving relief to individuals in need through Mercy Corps and abc home & planet foundation.
HUNGER IN AFRICA
Violence, drought, conflict and unrest mean that 20 million people are at risk of famine in South Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen and Somalia. Your donation will help Mercy Corps reach more families in need in these countries and around the world with critical aid and support.
The scale of Syria’s humanitarian crisis is astonishing — 11 million people, half of the country’s pre-war population, have been forced from their homes and 250,000 have died since the war began in 2011. They need our help to get through the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. Your gift supports the vital aid and tireless support provided by Mercy Corps, who are on the ground assisting these refugees and have been since August 2012.
The Mercy Corps Gift of Compassion provides fundamental supplies for safety and community refuge through their Humanitarian Response Fund.
