Project Mala was founded in 1989 to provide an education to children in key areas prone to child labor in Uttar Pradesh, India. They currently have six schools educating more than 1,000 children from pre-school to secondary school with a curriculum designed to prepare them to return to formal education. Their schools facilitate personal growth, provide healthcare and nutrition, and integrate extra curricular activities such as art and sports. Project Mala aims to reduce the discrimination that girls, extremely poor, or physically disabled children face in the classroom.
The Project Mala Gift of Compassion provides a young child in India with six months of schooling, laying the foundation necessary to cultivate ambition, curiosity, and confidence.
