The Patrick Chege Memorial Orphanage
The Patrick Chege Memorial Orphanage is located in Nakuru, Kenya. Like most of sub-Saharan Africa, Kenya has been ravaged by the HIV\AIDS epidemic. The 1.5 million children left orphaned feel the devastation of the disease most acutely. The Chege Orphanage is a haven for such children, who would otherwise live alone on the streets, scavenging for food and temporary shelter. The organization gives them a safe and nurturing home, with loving caregivers, healthy food, clothing and medical care. They also provide each child with an education, for this is the foundation for their future. The founder, Siamanda Chege, is the eldest child of the Rev. Patrick Chege, who was a minister, teacher, counselor, and friend to those in need all over Africa.
The Patrick Chege Memorial Orphanage Gift of Compassion helps to purchase the things most important to a growing child: food, clothing, medical care, education fees and textbooks, sheets and blankets, and heat and hot water for the home.
